This show "Within," was a fierce personal struggle for me. Moved by a pain deep within myself passing the threshold of life, I was swallowed by the unknown. Even though I appeared to have died to all who knew and loved me it was an enlightening and necessary journey for me I do not regret. I visited all the dark places inside myself discovering both loathsome and beautiful "things" dragging them to the shores of my soul nearly losing my life in the process. Each piece illustrates a part of this unknown place inside all of us that represents the worldwide womb or "the belly of the whale." "Within" is the precursor to my current show "Utterance" which tells a story of rebirth / emergence from this dark place into the color-filled light of the outer world that we all share.
